The Heartbreak of Losing Gatsby: Seeking Your Help

It pains me deeply to share this story, but I am hoping that the kindness and understanding of this community can help bring my beloved Gatsby back to me. Gatsby is not just a pet; he is my emotional support animal and a vital part of my life.

What Happened

A few months ago, I had to be hospitalized unexpectedly. During this time, Gatsby was being held at Madison County Animal Shelter in Richmond, Kentucky, for safekeeping. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, he was transferred to For Paws Unleashed boarding facility, also in Richmond, KY.

Despite my repeated attempts to communicate with For Paws Unleashed to bring Gatsby back home, I was met with no response for days. When they finally returned my calls, I was heartbroken to learn that Gatsby had been put up for adoption. To make matters worse, when I asked for information about Gatsby's whereabouts and wellbeing or requested his return, they directed me to consult their attorney instead of providing any assistance.

Why Gatsby is Important to Me

Gatsby has been my rock, providing me with emotional stability and comfort through some of the most challenging times in my life. His presence helps me cope with stress and anxiety, and the bond we share is irreplaceable. Losing him feels like losing a part of myself, and the pain is overwhelming. I have all of Gatsby's vet records, my ESA letter from my doctor, and his microchip number, which proves our bond and his importance to my well-being.

How You Can Help

I am reaching out to anyone who might be able to assist in bringing Gatsby back home:

1. Share This Post: Please spread the word on social media, with friends, and in local community groups. The more people who know about Gatsby, the better our chances of finding him.

2. Contact For Paws Unleashed: If you have any connections or influence with For Paws Unleashed, please advocate for Gatsby's return to me.  They can be reached at (859) 623-3647.  Their attorney’s office Erdmann and Stumbo PLLC is (859) 624-9555.

3. Keep an Eye Out: If you come across any adoption listings or hear of a corgi named Gatsby being rehomed, please reach out to me immediately.

Final Thoughts

Gatsby means everything to me, and every day without him is a struggle. Your support and assistance can make a world of difference in reuniting us. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any help you can provide.  Below is the last picture For Paws Unleashed sent me of him back at the end of November 2024.

Sincerely,

Jen
